With more than 40 years of experience in chemistry, Mr. Griffin has become an authority in his industry. His career began at Johns Manville in 1964, a position he held for two years. He then served as a research chemist at the Texas Division of Dow Chemical from 1974 to 1978, a senior chemist at Soltex, Inc., from 1978 to 1980, a plant chemist at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. from 1980 to 1984, quality assurance supervisor at Core Lab Chromospec from 1984 to 1988 and a plant chemist and quality assurance supervisor at the Georgia Gulf Corporation from 1988 to 1995. Recently, Mr. Griffin was active as a synthesis chemist and laboratory quality coordinator at KCMO L.L.C. from 1995 to 2004 and as a consultant and research and development chemist at Technisource from 2004 to 2006. He concluded his career as a business development chemist at Texas Molecular L.L.C. in 2012. Mr. Griffin has also worked on a number of video productions at Pro-Star Video Productions.
Mr. Griffin served as a procurement specialist in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. Prior to becoming an esteemed chemist, he attended Texas A&M University and received a Bachelor of Science in 1972 and a Master of Science in 1974. Outside of his career, he has volunteered in his field and community. He served on the board of directors for the South Belt Security Alliance from 1988 to 2003, as the president of the Kirkwood Civic Club from 1991 to 1996, and as a member of the Better Business Bureau of Greater Houston and South Texas in 1996.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Griffin remains aware of the changes and advancements in his industry through relevant organizations. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and a former member of ASTM International. In light of his many contributions to the field of chemistry, he has received a number of accolades during his career. He was honored with the Outstanding Student Award from the American Institute of Chemists in 1972. He also received the Outstanding Airman Award and the Outstanding Procurement Activity Award from the United States Air Force. Mr. Griffin has also been featured in several editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in the World.
