Earlier, Dr. Pellegrini served as a Henry N. Harkins professor and the chairman of the Department of Surgery at the University of Washington between 1993 and 2015.
From 1975 until 1992, Dr. Pellegrini held a number of roles at the University of California San Francisco and the University of Chicago, including as a resident and a fellow of surgery, an assistant professor, an associate professor and a professor. His inaugural roles in the field were those of a surgical intern and a resident of Rosario University Hospital. Throughout his professional journey, he has gained valuable expertise with the Harborview Medical Center and the University of California San Francisco. Though Dr. Pellegrini's career has been suffused with highlights, he is especially proud of educating the next generation of surgeons and providing unwaveringly compassionate care for his patients.
In 1971, Dr. Pellegrini earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rosario Medical School. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he affiliates himself with the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the American Surgical Association, the Pan Pacific Surgical Association, the James IV Association of Surgeons, and many more. In civic affairs, Dr. Pellegrini likewise contributes his time and resources to the American College of Surgeons, for which he served as the president from 2013 until 2014.
Dr. Pellegrini has been honored for his professional accomplishments with two features of Who's Who in the West. In 1997, he married his wife, Kelly, Hi is the proud father of two children, through whom he has four grandchildren. Dr. Pellegrini holds an abiding passion for aviation, a pastime he indulges in whenever his busy schedules can allow.
