Dr. Singaraju Jyothi is a senior professor in the department of computer science at Sri Padmavati Mahila University.

Dr. Jyothi's professional journey in academia began in 1991, as a junior lecturer at the Government Junior College in Godavarikhani, India. Three years later, she was hired as a faculty member at Sri Padmavati Mahila University in Tirupati, India. Today, she is a senior professor in the department of computer science on campus where she teaches various core and elective computer science courses at the postgraduate and graduate level.
Over the past three years, Dr. Jyothi has served as an inflibnet coordinator on campus. She formerly served as the board of studies chairman and the director of the university computer center between 2012 and 2015, and was a network coordinator between 2008 and 2013. During Dr. Jyothi's tenure and under her supervision, there have notably been 17 doctoral students and seven master's degree students awarded. She was also responsible for supervising six doctoral scholars.
Outside of her commitments at Sri Padmavati Mahila University, Dr. Jyothi is currently serving as secretary of the Society for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship-Technology Business Incubator, which serves as a platform for the commercialization of university research and is supported by the department of science and technology through the government of India. She also spent several years heading the department of computer science at the Engineering College of Sri Padmavati Mahila University in Tirupati between 2008 and 2011.
Dr. Jyothi's areas of interest include image processing, soft computing, data mining, big data analytics, bioinformatics and hyperspectra image analysis. She is presently working on computerized medical diagnosis systems based on x-rays, MRIs and electrocardiograms. She is also involved in several other areas of study, including computerized pattern recognition, systems-based morphological features of species and computerized predicted models in agriculture.
As a result of her research, Dr. Jyothi has authored and edited 10 books in her field, including "Design and Analysis of Algorithms." She has contributed more than 200 articles to various professional journals, has served on the editorial boards for several international journals and has been a reviewer of many papers for international journals and conferences. Further, Dr. Jyothi has been a technical committee member of international conferences, has presented and served as a session chairman at international and national conferences, has participated in several hands-on workshops and has been a keynote and invited speaker on several occasions.
An alumnus of Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati, Dr. Jyothi received a Master of Science in 1985 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1992. She later acquired a second Master of Science at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, India, in 2001.
Dr. Jyothi is an elected fellow of several organizations, including the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and the International Science Community Association. She is senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology, as well as a member of several other organizations.
Awarded several times for her accomplishments, Dr. Jyothi notably received a Venus Lifetime Achievement Award, a Best Research Award and a Rashtriya Gaurav Award. She was also the recipient of a scholarship by the Associated Press State Government between 1983 and 1985.
