Lt. Donald F. Babbin, Jr. has held the role of the president of the Brunswick Police Association and the senior vice president for the Southern States Policemen's Benevolent Association.

Prior to these appointments, he worked as an officer for U.S. Customs and Border Protection from 2004 to 2006 and an auxiliary police officer for the Wayland Police Department from 2000 to 2006. During this time, he served the Hull Police as a police officer from 2002 to 2005, the Massachusetts Port Authority as a heavy mechanic from 2003 to 2005, and the Boston College Police Department as a dispatch and security officer from 2002 to 2004. Mr. Babbin began his career as a first class mechanic for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority, a post in which he flourished between 1990 and 2005.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Babbin pursued an education at Saint Columbkille Partnership School, earning a diploma in 1990. He continued his academic efforts with coursework at Westfield State University and Framingham State University in 2002. He plans to conclude his studies at Southern New Hampshire University in 2020, graduating with a Bachelor of Public Administration. Having previously completed the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association program, Mr. Babbin is certified as a marijuana examiner, a pistol armorer for Glock and SIG-SAUER handguns, a manager, and a supervisor.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Babbin has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He has contributed to the advisory board for Bank of America and the state board for the Policemen's Benevolent Association. Furthermore, he has held the role of the president of the Brunswick Police Association and the senior vice president for the Southern States Policemen's Benevolent Association. In his spare time, Mr. Babbin enjoys hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Babbin remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. Associated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, he has maintained his involvement with the National Association of Policeman, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the International Police Association. He was also active with the Knights of Columbus, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the National Rifle Association. Likewise, Mr. Babbin is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Babbin has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. In 2013, he was recognized as an Officer of the Year by the Brunswick Police Department. Moreover, he was celebrated as the Officer of the Year by the Exchange Club of Brunswick one year later.
