Mr. Ayres is the principal broker of Ayres Realty Company, a small brokerage firm located in Lithia Springs, Georgia, just 20 miles west of Atlanta. A family-owned and operated business, Mr. Ayres took over for his father in 1971. He enjoys the buying and selling process and equally enjoys working with clients to help them attain their dreams. Specializing in nearly all real estate matters, including commercial and residential buildings and land, mobile home and aviation communities, industrial parks and leases, Mr. Ayres has extensive experience in complex real estate deals, much of which is concentrated in the metro Atlanta area. An avid pilot, Mr. Ayres is also the owner of Ayresouth Aviation, Inc., in Lithia Springs.
An alumnus of Emory University, Mr. Ayres served in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program on campus and received both an Associate of Arts in 1968 and a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1970. He soon after pursued postgraduate coursework at Mercer University between 1970 and 1971. He is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Georgia and a licensed private pilot.
Originally studying law in college, Mr. Ayres worked for King & Spalding LLP in Atlanta between 1968 and 1970 before ultimately deciding to follow a different career path. Entering the family business, within three years, he earned his real estate license and became a broker. Mr. Ayres is the author of a three-book series published through Xlibris. "Fallow Are the Fields: A Civil War Tale" was released in 2004, followed by "We Danced until Dawn" in 2008. The third book, which was released in 2012, is titled "Under the Wedding Tree: A Novel About Love, Life and Family."
Throughout his career, Mr. Ayres has been active with numerous civic organizations. He is a member and past president of the Lithia Springs chapter of Ruritan National, Inc., the West Georgia chapter of the West Georgia Board of Realtors and the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce. He was notably elected president of the chamber at the age of 25. Mr. Ayres is also a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Experimental Aircraft Association, the Masons and EAA Chapter 976 of West Georgia.
