Previously, Mr. Tovar excelled as the logistics controller of Utah Idaho Supply/Map World from 1985 to 1986, a launch support engineer and a senior manufacturing engineer at Aerojet between 1986 to 1993, a senior quality engineer at BP Chemicals from 1993 to 1994, and the director of quality engineering Testing International from 1994 until 1995. Likewise, Mr. Tovar was the quality assurance manager of Siemens Mobility from 1996 to 1998, the executive director of quality assurance at Precision Custom Components between 1998 and 2002, the director of quality assurance at Haemonetics Manufacturing Inc. from 2014 until 2015 and the program head at Cesca Therapeutics from 2015 to 2016.
Prior to becoming an esteemed corporate leader, Mr. Tovar pursued higher education with a Bachelor of Science in logistics management engineering from Weber State University in 1988. He continued his studies at National University in 1990, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and manufacturing. Moreover, Mr. Tovar is certified as a manager of quality & organizational excellence and a quality systems manager in public administration.
Mr. Tovar served in the Civil Air Patrol and the Air Force Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps. Apart from his career, he was active as the institutional head of Troop 302 of the Boy Scouts of America from 1990 to 1995 and a USISA indoor referee from 2000 to 2019. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Tovar remains informed of the changes and advancements in his industry through relevant organizations, such as the American Society for Nondestructive Testing and the American Society for Quality. Adjacent to his career, Mr. Tovar is the proud father of six children and married to Suzanne Oxborrow. In his free time, he enjoys athletics, war games and music.
In light of his many achievements in the field, Mr. Tovar has received a number of accolades throughout his career. He won the Excellence in Science Award from QAC Inc in 2013, the Boeing Rolls Royce Team Award in 1994, the Total Quality Management Award from Aerojet in 1991 and the Value Engineering Award from Aerojet in 1987. Mr. Tovar has been featured in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the West.
