Mr. Holbrook is a publishing company executive with more than 45 years of accomplishment in his field. He began his career by attending Utah State University, from which graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1961. He went on to earn Master of Arts degrees from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., in 1967 and the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1970. Always inclined towards writing, Mr. Holbrook was drawn to publishing by the challenge of making a client's words and expectations become real and reach an audience.
From 1962 to 1969, Mr. Holbrook served as a contract administrator for the Department of the Navy, Washington, D.C. He transitioned towards higher education in 1969, serving as an assistant faculty member at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. Mr. Holbrook subsequently found success as an assistant professor at Brigham Young University from 1970 until 1971, at Utah State University between 1971 and 1972, and at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts, from 1972 to 1974. In 1975, he gained valuable experience a publisher at the Holbrook Research Institute of Oxford, Massachusetts, a position he maintains to the present day. Mr. Holbrook joined Archive Publications of Oxford, Massachusetts in 1990, where he likewise continues to affiliate.
Mr. Holbrook is the author of numerous works on historical New England demographic records. His work has aided in the reconstruction and scholarly availability of Colonial period census data and vital records, including the 1670 Connecticut census, a list of New Hampshire residents from 1633 to 1699, and the 1782 Rhode Island census. In addition to these restorations, Mr. Holbrook is a published poet and a writer, an accomplishment he regards as a career highlight.
