A celebrated elementary school teacher and a reading specialist of more than 40 years, Ms. Berg retired from the Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District in Foxburg in 2017. She previously found success in the same capacity for the Punxsutawney Area School District. Additionally, Ms. Berg taught first and fifth grades for the Seoul Foreign School District, was a third grade teacher for the Brookville Area School District in Pennsylvania and tutored students privately.
Invested in her community, Ms. Berg served as a den leader and a committee chairwoman for the Boy Scouts of America in Elizabethtown, and contributed her time as a room mother for the local Parent Teacher Organization. Devoted to her local parish church, she likewise volunteered as a vacation bible school director and a Sunday school teacher. Concurrently, Ms. Berg also worked as a substitute teacher within the Derry Township School District of Hershey during 1990, and later taught students on a more personal basis as a private tutor in 1993.
An alumnus of Slippery Rock State College, Ms. Berg received a Bachelor of Science in elementary education in 1975. She later obtained a Master of Education from Slippery Rock University in 1987. She is a certified elementary teacher in Pennsylvania, a certified reading specialist through Clarion University, and is certified in early childhood education through Slippery Rock University.
Ms. Berg is a member, a former president, and the correspondence secretary for the Seneca Reading Council. Moreover, is also a member and a former conference committee member of the Keystone State Reading Association and a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. Her avocational interests include membership with the Butler Outdoor Club, where she once served as a secretary. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Berg has been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
