Prior to that position, he worked as the vice president for Concord General from 1993 to 1995. Mr. Seward served in the previous posts of an accounting manager for Guarantee Reserve Life Insurance Company and an assistant controller for the North America Insurance Companies.
Mr. Seward has held the leadership roles of the president and the chief financial officer for the Home & Auto Insurance Company, the Universal Fire & Casualty Insurance Company, and the Classic Insurance Company, among other companies. He embarked on his professional journey as a manager of accounting services for Guarantee Reserve Life Insurance Company from 1965 to 1969. Since then, Mr. Seward has found success as an assistant controller for Gambles Insurance Group from 1969 to 1971, and the vice president for Home & Auto Insurance Company from 1973 to 1975.
Mr. Seward embarked on his educational journey at Northern Illinois University, earning a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 1965. He completed additional coursework in finance at St. Joseph's College in 1968. Mr. Seward has acquired an impressive number of certifications over a long career, which include titles as a certified insurance counselor, a certified professional insurance agent, and a certified public accountant, in addition to several others.
A fellow of the International Biographical Association, Mr. Seward has been inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame as a Man of the Year. Additionally, he has been recognized as a Research Advisor of the Year and a Lifetime Deputy Governor. Outside of his numerous awards and recognitions, Mr. Seward is most proud of the company he established and his time at Home & Auto Insurance Company in Chicago, at which he worked with one of his mentors, Warren Buffet.
