An award-winning professor and professional in the field, Dr. Chung has served as a professor and the head of the social welfare department at Baekseok Culture University in South Korea since 2015. For the past decade, she has also been contributing her expertise as the executive director of the Korea Coaching Association, the chair of the licensing board of the Korea Parent Education Association and the executive director and member of the ethical committee of the Korea Child and Family Welfare Association. The former head of two different multicultural family support centers, Dr. Chung also spent several years as a youth instructor and counselor for the Youth Counseling National Exam Council and a professor in the social welfare department at Suncheon Jeil College.
A prolific author, Dr. Chung has published nearly a dozen books since 2011. She recently released "Childcare Education Theory" in 2019, "Family Welfare Theory" in 2017 and "Youth Culture Theory" in 2015. She has contributed multiple articles to scholarly journals as well, including the Korean Journal of Family Welfare, the Journal of the Korean Association for Learner-Centered Curriculum and Instruction, as well as the KEDI Journal of Educational Policy (SSCI). Dr. Chung's most recent article, "Q Methodological Approach in Coaching Competence Research," was published through the Coaching Research Journal by Korea Coaching Association in 2018.
To prepare for her career, Dr. Chung pursued an education at Sookmyung Women's University. First earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1994, she continued her studies to obtain a Master of Arts in Child Welfare in 2003 as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in Child Welfare in 2008. In addition, Dr. Chung is a Korea Licensed Professional Coach who has devoted her career to advancing the coaching field in South Korea by developing diverse coaching programs, including parent coaching, academic coaching, and child coaching. Furthermore, she is also licensed as a National Youth Counselor, National Social Worker, National Child Educator, Enneagram Leadership Educator, and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Master Practitioner.
For excellence in her career, Dr. Chung has been the recipient of a number of honors and accolades over the years. Recently presented with an Excellent Professor Award from Beakseok Culture University in 2018, she also received a Korea National Licensing Board Appreciation Plaque in 2012 and 2016. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Chung was previously featured in the 26th edition of Who's Who in the World.
