With more than 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Alexander has been the superintendent of the Roscoe Collegiate Independent School District since 2003. Prior to obtaining his current role, he served as a high school principal with the district from 2000 to 2003, a grant writer since 1999, and an instructor of the English language, art, and kinesiology since 1988. Earlier in his career, he gained valuable expertise as an English and kinesiology instructor with Sweetwater Independent School District between 1987 and 1988. Moreover, from 1985 to 1987 he was a social studies and kinesiology instructor with Highland Independent School District. In addition to his primary positions, Dr. Alexander excelled as a self-employed production agriculturist with Alexander Ag since 1977.
Dr. Alexander first pursued an education with Angelo State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in education in 1976. He subsequently attended Abilene Christian University, completing a Master of Education in educational administration in 1985. Dr. Alexander continued his studies with Texas Technical University and Texas A&M University, where he earned a Doctor of Education in agricultural education in 2007.
A respected voice in his areas of interest, Dr. Alexander has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. He is a member of the Texas Association of School Administrators, the Texas Association of Professional Educators, and the American Association of School Administrators. He has also been active with Phi Kappa Phi, the American Cotton Growers Association, the Red Angus Association of America, and Realtor's Land Institute.
