He has been the lead litigation attorney for the construction defect claims of countless homeowners, homeowner associations, and commercial building owners, and has personally recovered over $400 million for his clients. His recoveries include 3 of the highest recoveries in Nevada, and several $20 million recoveries in Nevada and California.
Growing up in a small Midwest town, instilled Mr. Rubino with a strong work ethic, which served him well in his future studies and career. In 1980, he graduated cum laude from DePauw University, with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Communications Arts and Sciences. In 1983, he graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he was an Associate Editor of the Indiana Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Society.
Following law school, Mr. Rubino served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Dixon W. Prentice, Indiana Supreme Court, before moving to San Diego, CA in 1984. As a young associate and later a partner of a prominent San Diego insurance defense firm, he defended developers, contractors and subcontractors in hundreds of construction defect lawsuits. In 1997, Mr. Rubino moved to Las Vegas, NV, where he embarked on his current career prosecuting construction defect and product liability claims for homeowners, homeowner associations, and commercial building owners. He was a partner with Canepa, Riedy & Rubino for 17 years, before becoming Of Counsel to the law firm of Fenton Grant Mayfield Kaneda & Litt in 2014.
Looking to the future, Mr. Rubino plans to continue pursuing construction defect and product liability claims on behalf of homeowners, homeowner associations, and commercial building owners in California and Nevada, and possibly expanding his practice into Hawaii.
Mr. Rubino and his family support various civic and charitable organizations, including the Susan G. Komen, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the American Bar Endowment, Wounded Warriors, Opportunity Village, Shade Tree, Shriners, and St. Jude's Hospitals.
