A passionate and dedicated administrator, Mrs. Burr serves as an assistant to the Managing Director of Santora CPA Group, with whom she has been affiliated since 2015. In addition to supporting the Managing Director, she assists in the intern recruiting process, planning of firm events, and serves on the firm's Social Committee.
Before re-entering the field of business administration, she was the head teacher at Hockessin Friends Pre-School (HFPS) for seven years. While still working part-time at HFPS, she became employed by Olsten Staffing Services at Avon Products, Inc. She started her career at Avon as a customer service agent / telephone support specialist in 1996 (working evenings) where she twice received Avon's World Class Award of Merit for exceptional service, as well as numerous customer service awards. She was promoted twice to the highest customer support level within two years. In 1998, Charlene left her position at HFPS to pursue full-time employment at Avon as a fundraiser and large order clerk continuing employment with Olsten.
In 1999, Avon Products, Inc., hired Charlene directly as a division sales administrative assistant until 2005, when she was asked to take a newly created position with Avon of new hire and division support administrative assistant where she was the recipient of the "supply chain excellence award" in 2009. Charlene's employment ended with Avon when the local distribution center facility closed.
Just prior to obtaining her current role, she was employed at Reading Assist Institute as their instructional coordinator for 4 years. Looking towards the future, she aspires to grow further in her current position and eventually obtain the level of executive assistant.
Charlene holds an Associate of Arts degree in business administration from Goldey-Beacom College (GBC). She returned to GBC in 2010 to begin working towards her Bachelor's degree but is currently taking a break due to numerous personal commitments.
She maintains her relationship with Business Management Daily and reads the monthly Administrative Professional Today newsletter. Through the years, she has volunteered for the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Delaware, was a school mentor with Creative Mentoring, a study group leader and served on the board of directors at Family Education Center, chaired and served on numerous PTA committees, and was a Nursing Mothers counselor and group leader.
Charlene lives with her husband of 37 years in Newark; and together, they are the proud parents of two grown children and have two grandchildren. Her avocations include reading, yoga, and spending time with her family; she especially enjoys her grandchildren every chance she gets.
