Mr. Auzenbergs is renowned as an esteemed automotive executive with more than 35 years of accomplishment in the industry. Born in Latvia in 1939, the Auzenbergs family relocated to the USA in 1949. Growing up in the heart of Cleveland's manufacturing center, he quickly realized that he had a gift for math, science, and technical work. He pursued an education at Columbia University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1961, a Bachelor of Science from the School of Engineering in 1963, and a Master of Business Administration, majoring in finance in 1964. Mr. Auzenbergs was later registered as a professional manufacturing engineer.
In 1964, Mr. Auzenbergs accepted a post at TRW headquarters in Cleveland as the coordinator of the TRW capital programs. He relocated to the TRW Mark 46 Program in 1967 as a senior industrial engineer and a unit manufacturing manager of the Mechanical Products Division. Mr. Auzenbergs served as the vice president of operations/ plant manager of the Hines Flask Company of Cleveland from 1969 to 1973 before returning to TRW as the director of operating services for the Industrial and Replacement Sector from 1973 to 1976. Here, he primarily worked on TRW manufacturing plant site searches and design/build construction programs.
In 1976, Mr. Auzenbergs was appointed as the manager of manufacturing for TRW Nelson Division in Lorain, Ohio. He became the director of manufacturing for the Chassis Components Group of TRW from 1979 to 1981 and the director of product planning for power rack and pinion steering systems in TRW Automotive Worldwide from 1982 to 1986. From 1986 to 1992, Mr. Auzenbergs was active as the director of planning and development of TRW Steering Systems Group, spending much time in TRW joint venture development. He was promoted to the vice president of the TRW Steering, Suspension, & Engine Group in 1993 until his retirement in 1998. This Group had 67 mfg. plants in 20 different countries, with total annual sales exceeding $3.0 billion.
Mr. Auzenbergs maintains his involvement as an advisor and an investor in a variety of private business ventures in NE Ohio. Notably, he has been a pillar of his Lutheran faith community for more than 50 years. Likewise, Mr. Auzenbergs is a member of the Society for Manufacturing Engineers and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
