Dr. Hans Weber worked as a long-time professor of physics at the University of Virginia from 1977 to 2003.

Dr. Weber worked as a long-time professor of physics at the University of Virginia from 1977 to 2003. He began his career as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Frankfurt in Germany for one year before immigrating to the United States in 1966 and working as a postdoctoral research associate at Duke University in Durham, NC, until 1967. He then started working at the University of Virginia as a postdoctoral research associate in 1967 and was promoted to assistant professor of physics from 1968 to 1971 and again to associate professor of physics from 1971 to 1977. He has also worked as a visiting scientist and professor at a number of academic institutions, including the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in Germany, and the University of Paris-Sud and University of Lyon in France.

Dr. Weber obtained a Master of Science in mathematics from the University of Frankfurt in 1961, where he later obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in physics in 1965. He is known for his development of a nuclear force, called the NN interaction, from quark models and a possible connection between quantum chromodynamics and meson dynamics. He is also known for his research on isobars in nuclei. He received a research grant from the National Science Foundation from 1971 to 1995 for his contributions to his field.

After graduating, Dr. Weber went on to co-author two books, "Essentials of Math Methods for Physicists" in 2003 and three editions of "Mathematical Methods for Physicists." He has also contributed articles to professional journals, such as the Physics Reports, the Springer Tracts, the Physical Letters and the Physical Review. There were certain papers he enjoyed working on, especially his paper on complimentary polynomials. In addition, he has served as a member of the American Physical Society and is listed in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in the World.
