Having accrued more than 40 years of experience, Dr. Weaver has found success in the public school system and in private practice in both Virginia and North Carolina as an expert psychologist. She has taught psychology at Southeastern Community College, and was an assistant principal of the Mecklenburg County Schools in Boydton, Virginia, and an assistant to the superintendent at Highland County Schools in Monterey, Virginia. Retired, Dr. Weaver worked for First Mental Health EPA's, HMO, in North Carolina, a position she held from 1996 to 2004. From 2005 to 2014 she worked for the Frederick County School District in Winchester, VA. She served on the ATI Task Force in North Carolina and Virginia.
Being of service to others has truly been a blessing for Dr. Weaver. Greatly influenced by her mother and grandmother, her grandmother, who was born in the 1800s, was one of the first women to enter into the medical profession and become an entrepreneur. Gaining a sense of work ethic from her family has been one of the abiding points of pride in Dr. Weaver's life, and the lessons passed down to her by her forerunners have always been of great importance to her.
In 1990, Dr. Weaver authored a book, "The Virginia Principal." She has also been active as a member of the ERA Summit, the North Carolina Equity and the Women's Activist. An alumnus of James Madison University, she received both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in 1967 and 1973, respectively. She later acquired a Doctor of Education from the University of Virginia in 1986. Dr. Weaver is licensed psychology in a school setting, and is likewise certified in neuropsychology.
Affiliated with several industry-related organizations, Dr. Weaver is a member of the American Psychological Association and the North Carolina School Psychologist Association. She is also a member of the American Association of University Women, and a committee member and a past president of the Business and Professional Women. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Weaver has been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
