She embarked upon her professional journey as a fifth-grade teacher at Blessed Sacrament School from 1981 to 1982, and subsequently served in such roles as a teacher at St Mary on the Hill Catholic School from 1985 to 1987, a teacher at Aquinas High School from 1987 to 1988, the Chair of the Department of Learning Support and Director of University College at Augusta State University from 2002 to 2013, and an assistant professor of mathematics in learning support at Augusta State University from 1989 to 2013, upon which she retired.
Prior to becoming an esteemed educator, Ms. Craig pursued higher education with a Bachelor of Arts from Augusta College in 1985. She earned a Master of Education from Augusta College in 1989 and an EdS from Augusta College in 1993. Ms. Craig is a certified teacher in the State of Georgia and a specialist in developmental education.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Ms. Craig remains informed of the changes and advancements in her industry through relevant organizations. She is a member of Phi Delta Kappa, the National Association for Developmental Education, the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and Phi Kappa Phi. Ms. Craig married the late Daniel Baxter Craig, MD in 1971, with whom she had two children and four grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys reading, researching, traveling, and attending church.
