He served as chairman and CEO of ADVO Inc. for 10 years before retirement. At the beginning of his career in the late 1950s, he served the National Cash Register as an executive sales trainee and Foote, Cone & Belding as a marketing researcher. Following these two early-stage development appointments Mr. Kamerschen earned significant executive success at Scott Paper Company for 10 years in multiple key sales roles followed by a number of key marketing positions at Revlon Inc., and Dunkin Donuts, Inc. Additionally, Mr. Kamerschen has held senior executive roles with the Marketing Corporation of America, RKO-Six Flags Entertainment, and Survey Sample International before his remarkably successful 10-year tenure as Chairman & CEO of ADVO, Inc.
An expert in his field, he pursued an education at Miami University, initially earning a Bachelor of Science in 1957. Mr. Kamerschen completed his studies at Miami University in 1958 graduating with a Master of Business Administration with Beta Gamma Sigma honors.
During his spare time, Mr. Kamerschen has contributed to his community through board service at The Wadsworth Atheneum, and Bushnell Hall in Hartford, CT. He also has held the post of Trustee at three academic institutions; specifically, Emerson College, Columbia College and University of Hartford College.
