CHICAGO, IL, September 20, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Ms. Goldstein with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Goldstein celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A prominent figure and pronounced voice in Chicago, Ms. Goldstein has excelled as a political scientist and a social activist for many years. Initially inspired by her mother, Marjorie Hardy, who was an activist, she read a myriad of publications which highlighted current social issues throughout her youth. These readings encouraged her desire to make a difference in the community and alleviate societal problems. Furthermore, Ms. Goldstein pursued an education at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1955.
Following her graduation, Ms. Goldstein found success as a customer service representative in the insurance industry for nearly 15 years. In 1969, she accepted a position as a relocation representative with the Department of Urban Renewal for the city of Chicago, which she held until 1972. Civically, she contributed as the chairperson of the school council for the Creiger Vocational High School in Chicago from 1991 to 1993. Moreover, she has served the World Federalist Association as a member and the president of the Chicago chapter from 1990 to 2005. Additionally, Ms. Goldstein has been active as the chairperson of the international relations committee for the League of Women Voters of Chicago, for which she formerly held the posts of the vice president and a member on the board of directors.
A published author, Ms. Goldstein's written works include "The Selfishness System: Why Society is Overwhelmed with Problems," published in 1994, and "Making Decisions that Don't Harm Others," published in 2003. The former publication remains the highlight of her career, as it had been influenced by her daughter's poor treatment in the public school system. Compelled to make a difference and highlight the mistreatment of daughter, who lives with autism, she decided to express her thoughts on the school system's selfishness and disregard for basic human nature. Ms. Goldstein continues to make strides toward societal progression through her involvement with the League of Women Voters action alerts, her passion for assisting those with special needs, and her lifelong dedication to activism.
In light of her accomplishments in the field, Ms. Goldstein has been featured in the 25th edition of Who's Who in the Midwest. Outside of her primary responsibilities, she enjoys collecting playing cards during her spare time. This year, she celebrates 50 years of marriage to her husband, Willie Goldstein. Currently residing in Chicago, they are proud parents of their son, Kenneth, and their daughter, Sophie.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Ms. Goldstein has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
