With nearly 40 years of professional experience to his credit, Dr. Trzasko most recently excelled as a staff psychologist for the Saint Dominic's Family Services in Blauvelt, New York, from 1980 to 2018. Prior to this engagement, he worked simultaneously as a consultant psychologist with Opengate, Inc., the Jewish Guild for the Blind, and The Orange County AHRC between 1982 and 2009. Dr. Trzasko completed a postdoctoral internship with the State Home and Training School for Intellectually & Developmentally Disabled in Arvada, Colorado, in 1980.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Trzasko was associated with Mercy College as a professor and professor emeritus from 1969 to 2008. Dr. Trzasko served as a neuroforensic psychologist at the Supervised Lifestyles Behavioral Health Clinic between 2002 and 2009, having previously served as the chair for educational psychology for the CLEP Test Development with the Educational Testing Service from 1999 to 2003. He has also contributed to a private clinical psychology practice and has conducted psychological evaluations on diagnostically complex cases.
Supported by an extensive educational background, Dr. Trzasko began his studies at the University of New Hampshire, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1967. Soon thereafter, he secured as Master of Arts in 1969 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1972 from the University of Vermont. Dr. Trzasko became a licensed psychologist in the states of New York, New Jersey and New Hampshire. A certified professional in behavioral therapy and clinical anxiety treatment, he also received qualifications in neuropsycho-educational evaluations and forensic psychology.
A respected voice in the industry, Dr. Trzasko's written works include co-authoring "Working with Visually Impaired Young Children: A Curriculum Guide for Birth-3 Year Olds" and the "Working with Visually Impaired Young Students: A Curriculum Guide for 3 to 5 Year Olds." He was presented a National Defense Education Act Graduate fellowship of the University of Vermont and was the recipient of a grant from the NSF/NAED Educational Commission States. To remain aware of trends in the field, Dr. Trzasko maintains membership with the American Psychological Association and the American College of Forensic Examiners.
