Ms. Henry began her career with the Division of State Audit for the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury in Nashville, Tennessee, as a junior legislative auditor in 1977. Soon thereafter, she became a senior legislative auditor, later progressing to the legislative audit manager for the organization between 1980 and 2013. Ms. Henry has served as an assistant director for the Division of State Audit since 2013.
Alongside her primary endeavors, Ms. Henry contributed as a tutor at DuPont Hadley Middle School in Old Hickory, Tennessee, between 1993 and 1995. Additionally, she volunteered her time with the Nashville Adult Literacy Council and the Christian Community Outreach Center, as well as the United Methodist Church in Old Hickory, from 1992 to 2003. A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, she maintains affiliation with the National Association of Government Accountants and the Nashville chapter of the Association of Government Accountants. She was recently awarded lifetime member status by the association, having been a member for over 40 years.
Prior to the inception of her career, Ms. Henry attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and secured a Bachelor of Science, graduating summa cum laude in 1976. Twenty years later, she was selected for the Tennessee Government Executive Institute in Knoxville, Tennessee, and graduated in 1996. A certified public accountant in the state of Tennessee, Ms. Henry became a certified governmental financial manager in 1995 and a chartered global management accountant in 2012.
