With almost 40 years of professional experience to her credit, Ms. Riley is an accomplished nurse and a non-commissioned retired officer of the U.S. Army. She recently retired as a nurse at Emory Healthcare and a former junior planner at Eagle Group International Inc., after working as an IRS tax examiner from 2009 to 2014. Previously, she excelled as an adjunct instructor for the Georgia Perimeter College between 2001 to 2010. Within that time, she also took on the role of an anesthesia burse at Northside Hospital in Atlanta from 2002 until 2004. After retiring from military service in 1995, Ms. Riley found success as a distribution clerk for the United States Postal Service from 1995 to 2000.
During her career as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, Ms. Riley worked most recently in the USAMEDDAC at Fort Polk as a ward master in the medical surgical unit and the newborn nursery unit from 1992 to 1995. She served in the additional capacities of an operations non-commissioned officer, a supervisor of the surgery clinic at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, a practical nurse, a nursing supervisor, and a ward master of a MASH intensive care unit. Ms. Riley began her career in the army as a practical nurse for the emergency room at Keller Army Hospital at West Point.
Prior to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Riley pursued an education at the University of Maryland, earning an Associate of Arts in 1987. She completed additional coursework at Upper Iowa University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in 1994. Ms. Riley concluded her studies at Central Michigan University, from which she graduated with a Master of Arts in education in 2001.
For her exceptional military service, Ms. Riley has received an Expert Field Medical Badge, a Parachutist Badge, and was entrusted with the responsibilities of instructing numerous training courses. Moreover, she was honored with a Meritorious Service Medal Third Clasp in 1995. One of her biggest career highlights, Ms. Riley's early position as an adjunct professor at Georgia Perimeter College gave her the platform to influence her students and watch them grow, some of whom followed in her footsteps and joined the military and became teachers.
