Due to her professional accomplishments, Dr. Caia Kent McCullar was awarded as an Outstanding Young Woman in America through the American Norwegian Historical Association.
DENTON, TX, September 27, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Caia Kent McCullar has been included in Marquis Who's Who. At the age of five, Dr. McCullar began taking piano lessons. Ever since, she has been inspired by her love of music and her desire to spread that love to others. From there, her high school music director, James Sheppard, encouraged her involvement in music, education, and pedagogy. Today, she excels as a professor of music and program director for the music education division of Dallas Baptist University. Previously, Dr. McCullar gained valuable expertise in the field as a professor of church music education at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, as a faculty member for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Wayland Baptist University, and as a children's choir director for churches in Central and West Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
An expert in her field, Dr. McCullar holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baylor University and a Master of Music degree in music education and a performer's certificate in voice from the University of Texas at Austin. Her Doctor of Philosophy in Fine Arts from Texas Tech University is in the areas of music education and vocal performance. Dr. McCullar is a certified teacher in all-level music education, generic special education, and early childhood through sixth grade regular content subjects. She retains her professional alignment with the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas and American Choral Directors Associations, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the Organization of American Kodaly Educators, and the Music Educators National Conference. An advocate in her community, Dr. McCullar also devotes her time and resources to the Southmont Baptist Church and the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.
With a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, Dr. McCullar co-authored "Pass the TExES Music EC-12 Study Manual" with her husband, David McCullar. Due to her professional accomplishments, she was awarded as an Outstanding Young Woman in America through the American Norwegian Historical Association. In the coming years, Dr. McCullar intends to retire but continue educating in an adjunct capacity.
