LINCOLN, NE, October 01, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. S. Kay Rockwell has been included in Marquis Who's Who. An esteemed educator, Dr. Rockwell holds the title of an emeritus professor of agricultural leadership, education, and communications at the University of Nebraska, where she worked as a professor from 1990 until 2003. Since 1979, she has served with the University of Nebraska in various positions, including as an evaluation technologist, a member of the advisory board in the department of adult education and social foundation, a professor in the cooperative extension division, and an evaluation specialist. In the early years of her career, Dr. Rockwell excelled as acting assistant director of nursing education and instructor with Lincoln General Hospital School of Nursing.
In a career filled with highlights, Dr. Rockwell finds it difficult to name one standout. However, she is especially proud of participating in devising the international monitoring and evaluation guidelines, and conducting research in distant education during the following years. A registered nurse in the State of Nebraska, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Arts in adult and continuing education and a Doctor of Philosophy in community and human resources through the University of Nebraska in 1962, 1975, and 1984, respectively.
Dr. Rockwell has contributed her extensive knowledge to various professional journals, including the Journal of Extension, where she served as a research-in-brief editor from 1987 until 1990. Additionally, she has authored and co-authored more than 15 articles, including "Using Targeting Outcomes of Programs as a Framework to Target Photographic Events in Nonformal Educational Programs," "Outcomes from State Department Grants to Build a Stable Economy in Tajikistan" and "A Hierarchy for Targeting Outcomes and Evaluating Their Achievement." Dr. Rockwell maintains her professional affiliation with the Extension Education Evaluation Topical Interest Group at the American Evaluation Association formerly serving as the North Central Regional Representative. In civic affairs, she also volunteers with the United States Agency for International Development.
Due to her professional accomplishments, Dr. Rockwell has been honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and features in publications such as Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Education. Now that she serves the University in an emeritus capacity, Dr. Rockwell is able to spend more time with her husband, Lee, their children, Kent, Susan and Keri, their grandchildren, Sidney, Alex, Kyle, Shelby, Grace, Allison, Athena and Serena, and great-grandchildren, Silas and Luna.
