Dr. Zhou graduated from Peking University of China and received his bachelor degree majoring in Biochemistry in 1994. After receiving his Ph.D. degree majoring in Biological Sciences from Columbia University, Dr. Zhou then moved to California to work as a postdoctoral scholar at the California Institute of Technology between 2001 and 2006. Dr. Zhou went back to school in 2007 to study in the University of Pennsylvania School of Law and received his Juris Doctor degree in 2010.
After graduating from law school, Dr. Zhou worked briefly at the Los Angeles office of Hogan & Lovells, LLP, and he then decided to hang his own shingle. Since 2012, he has excelled as an attorney in private practice through the eponymous Law Offices of James Zhou, where he specializes in immigration, asset protection, intellectual property, corporate and family law, as well as civil litigation.
