Prior to these roles, she worked as a senior account executive with Zurich Environmental from 2002 to 2011, an underwriting specialist with Kemper Insurance Company from 1999 to 2002, and a senior underwriter with First State Management Group from 1995 to 1999. From 1987 to 1995, Ms. Miller-Girson flourished as a senior commercial account underwriting specialist with Home Insurance Company.
Previously, Ms. Miller-Girson served as a casualty underwriter with Hartford Insurance Company from 1986 to 1987. She further held a number of positions with CNA Insurance, including as a dentist professional liability underwriter from 1984 to 1986 and a package underwriter from 1983 to 1984. A worker's compensation underwriter with EBI Company from 1981 to 1983, she was additionally active as a commercial lines underwriter with Hanover Insurance Company from 1980 to 1981 and a personal lines underwriter with Farmers Insurance Group from 1978 to 1980. Ms. Miller-Girson began her career as a teacher with Evanston School District 65 from 1975 to 1976 and a lawyer's professional liability underwriter with Shand Morahan Company from 1977 to 1978.
Ms. Miller-Girson initially pursued an education with Kendall College, where she obtained an Associate of Arts in 1973. She continued her studies with MacMurray College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1975. She concluded her academic efforts at the National Lewis College of Education, graduating with a Master of Education in 1976. Furthermore, Ms. Miller-Girson is certified as a professional insurance woman, and as an associate in underwriting and management.
A respected voice in her areas of interest, Ms. Miller-Girson has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. She is a member of the Insurance Distaff Executive Association, the Saints, the Cinema Chicago, and the Association for Professional Insurance Women. She also served for 8 years as a Commissioner on the Transportation Commission for the Village of Wilmette. For her contributions to the field, Ms. Miller-Girson has been featured in numerous honors publications, including Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who of American Women.
