With more than 35 years of professional experience to her credit, Ms. O'Dwyer has excelled as the director of civic community relations with Aprio, an accounting firm based in Georgia, since 2018. Prior to this appointment, she worked with the aforementioned company as a sales director from 2007 to 2018, having previously contributed as the national director of venture capital research for PwC in Atlanta for 12 years. Earlier in her career, Ms. O'Dwyer was hired by Ernst & Young (EY) as a technical writer in San Francisco, later progressing to an office manager for PwC in San Jose, California, between 1981 and 1989.
Consequently, she joined the multinational law firm DLA Piper in Palo Alto, California, as a marketing manager from 1989 to 1994, before returning to PwC as a marketing manager until 1995. In a career filled with several highlights, she is most proud of developing a program at Aprio, called Next Generation Manufacturing. Although met with some apprehension, Ms. O'Dwyer achieved major success with the program which celebrates its ninth anniversary this year.
Prior to embarking on her professional path, Ms. O'Dwyer attended California State University, Fresno, and earned a Bachelor of Arts with cum laude honors in 1979. A member of the Technology Association of Georgia, she also maintains her professional relationships with the University of Alabama's Culverhouse School of Business Board of Visitors, the Tech Alpharetta Board of Directors, Operation Lifeshield, the Corporate Volunteer Council, and the InVenture Prize at Georgia Tech. Outside of work, Ms. O'Dwyer enjoys such diversions as reading, studying Civil War history, gospel music, and singing at her local church choir.
