The daughter of a municipal bonds specialist, she first learned about finance accompanying her father to work as a teen. Driven by the desire for independence, she attended Pennsylvania State University in University Park, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 1955, and became the first female stockbroker in Pittsburgh.
Following her graduation from Pennsylvania State University in 1955, Ms. Kreitzer joined the firm of Janney, Montgomery Scott LLC and its predecessor firms as a stockbroker, where she remained until 1962. From 1962 to 1968, she was an independent consultant in Pittsburgh. She served as an estate executrix throughout Pittsburgh from 1968 to 1982. Ms. Kreitzer has been a shareholder activist since 1970, and a personal investor serving clients in Pittsburgh since 1975.
Ms. Kreitzer is a lifetime member of the American Association of University Women, where she served as president from 1960 to 1965.
