Since 2009, he has served as the President and the Chief Operating Officer of Hess Corporation. He previously worked as the Executive Vice President Exploration and Production - Asia Pacific, Royal Dutch Shell from 2006-2008; Vice President, Exploration and Production – Europe from 2002-2006; Senior Vice President Aera Energy, LLC from 1998-2001; and Vice President, Planning, Strategy and Shareholder Relations, Shell Oil Company – London, 1997-1998. Prior to those roles, from 1983-1996 he held a number of management positions for Shell Oil Company and Affiliates in strategic planning, innovation, operations, and petroleum and production engineering.

Mr. Hill graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming in 1983. A member of Pi Tau Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi, he served as the treasurer of Tau Beta Pi from 1982 to 1983. In his spare time he enjoys many outdoor pursuits including hunting, fishing, and camping.

Apart from his career, Mr. Hill also serves in a number of private and civic leadership positions. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Harbour Energy, a global private equity energy investment firm; Chairman of the Wyoming Governor's ENDOW Initiative to develop a 20 year economic diversification plan for the state of Wyoming; Chairman of the University of Wyoming Foundation Board, and is a Co-Chairman of the Wyoming Governor's Energy, Engineering and STEM Integration Task Force. Mr. Hill is also a Board member of the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA), the Greater Houston Partnership, CEOs Against Cancer – Gulf Coast Chapter, and is an Executive Council member of the Blue Ribbon Panel on Sustaining Americas Diverse Fish and Wildlife Resources. Finally, he is a Vice Chairman of the 2020 World Petroleum Congress.

In light of his many achievements in the field, Mr. Hill has received a number of awards and accolades throughout his career. He has been featured in several editions of Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in Corporate America, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Finance and Industry. Married to Loren Jean Hill since 2012, Mr. Hill is the proud father of two children.
