Mr. McKean is a retired economist and operations vice president with more than 30 years of distinction in his field. He attended the University of Connecticut, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1963. He subsequently joined the State of Connecticut Economic Development Commission as a research statistician while pursuing his Masters of Arts in economics and finance at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. In 1965, Mr. McKean joined American Cyanamid Company and rose to a mergers and acquisition specialist in the health care sector. He then joined Xerox Corporation based in Rochester, New York in 1968 as a pricing specialist for new products being introduced into the U.S. market. In 1971, he moved to Xerox's Capital Investment Group responsible for recommending major capital investments in new manufacturing, training and marketing facilities and equipment throughout the U.S. In 1973, he joined Xerox's Office Document Products Group, Latin American Division as a financial planner. His product knowledge coupled with his expertise in economics and finance were essential in developing sound business strategies in these unpredictable developing markets. In 1975, he moved to Mexico City to assist the local Finance Director in developing aggressive business strategies and to strengthen the liaison between the Mexican affiliate and U.S. headquarters. In 1978, he returned to group headquarters in Stamford Connecticut assuming responsibility for establishing all office document product business strategies, including the introduction of new products, pricing, resource investments and setting profit targets for Xerox's Latin American affiliates. Between 1981 and 1986, Mr. McKean was manager of inter-American affairs involving government and partnership relations in Latin America. This included representing Xerox's business interests in compliance with government market access policies and regulations as well as addressing various business matters related to the OAS and NAFTA organizations. In 1986 he assumed responsibility for the Reprographics Business Center in Latin America becoming the director of office document products for the Latin American market in 1992. He subsequently became vice president of marketing integration for reprographic products in 1996 for Latin America, lndia and China until his retirement in 2001.
