Dr. Thomas Just Sørensen was honored as a Visiting Research Scholar with Keble College, and with the Villum Young Investigator Award and the University of Copenhagen Innovation Award in 2016.
COPENHAGEN, Denmark, October 18, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Thomas Sørensen has been included in Marquis Who's Who. A distinguished businessman with many years of experience in chemistry research and education, Dr. Sørensen serves as the chief financial officer of KU Dyes and as the chief scientific officer of FRS-Systems. Previously, he gained valuable expertise in education with the University of Copenhagen as a teaching assistant in 2004, a research assistant with Professor Klaus Bechgaard in 2005, as well as Professor Thomas Bjørnholm in 2006, and as a postdoctoral student with Professor Bo W. Laursen in 2009. From there, he flourished on the staff of the University as an independent postdoctoral student, assistant professor and associate professor. Over the years, he has also pursued postdoctoral studies with Professor Stephen Faulkner at the University of Oxford. Although his career has been suffused with highlights, he is especially proud to have sold KU Dyes, due to it being the subject of his doctoral dissertation.
Before joining the University of Copenhagen in a professional capacity, Dr. Sørensen received a bachelor's degree in chemistry. Subsequently, he received a master's degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry from his alma mater in 2006 and 2010, respectively. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he has maintained his professional affinity with the Royal Society of Chemistry, the American Chemical Society, the Young Academy for Science and Letters and the Danish Chemical Society. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Sørensen has contributed more than 50 papers and patents in his professional field.
Dr. Sørensen has been noted numerous times for his efforts, earning the Carlsberg Foundation Scholarship in 2005 and with the Lundbeck Foundation Talent Prize in 2011. More recently, he was honored as a Visiting Research Scholar with Keble College, and with the Villum Young Investigator Award and the University of Copenhagen Innovation Award in 2016. In the near future, Dr. Sørensen intends to establish a third company which focuses on the digital economy. Additionally, Dr. Sørensen aspires to become a full professor with the University of Copenhagen.
