NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ, October 18, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Rena Segal with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Segal celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A New Jersey native, Ms. Segal has been an artist throughout her entire life. Attending college locally, she uses oil paint, oil sticks, and pastels on paper and canvas. Through the years, her work has been exhibited at area colleges, galleries, museums, libraries and other locations in one-person shows and group shows across the state, including the Gallery at StageWorks in Hudson, New York, in 2005, the George Segal Gallery at Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ in 2012, and The Heldrich in New Brunswick in 2009. Ms. Segal's art has also been represented in multiple permanent collections throughout New Jersey for private individuals and for various organizations, such as Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Chase Manhattan Bank and Johnson & Johnson.
Using ordinary objects and familiar places, Ms. Segal often paints still life and landscapes, as well as still life collages. Comping images, she then prints them on several sheets of paper, glues them down on canvas and begins to select colors to add. Her unique sense of color, surface texture and personal vision helps her in creating one-of-a-kind beauties. Following in the footsteps of her father, the late George Segal, who was a world-renowned painter, sculptor and visionary, Ms. Segal has always been drawn to art.
Today, Ms. Segal serves as the president of the George and Helen Segal Foundation, an organization named after her parents. Founded in 2000, shortly after her father's passing, its purpose is to continue showing his work around the world, gift it to museums and galleries and provide an authoritative place to purchase it. In 2019, seven pieces of Ms. Segal's father's work was notably contributed to the Boca Raton Museum of Art in Boca Raton, Florida.
Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Ms. Segal decided by the time she was in high school that she wanted to focus her talents by becoming a painter. She subsequently enrolled at Montclair State University, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1975. Ms. Segal later graduated with a Master of Fine Arts at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey in 1977.
Ms. Segal received a New Jersey State Council on the Arts painting fellowship in 1985. She has been featured in articles and reviews in many newspapers throughout her career, including The New York Times, The New Yorker, the Star Ledger, the Asbury Park Press and the Trenton Times. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Segal has been selected for inclusion in Who's Who in America and Who's Who of American Women.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Rena Segal has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
