Mr. Murray B. Wells was the recipient of the Diversity Award from the University of Arkansas School of Law and was named Best Overall Oralist at the University of Arkansas' Moot Court Competition.

Mr. Wells attended Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1992. In 1999, he graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, allowing him to begin practicing law.
Mr. Wells began his career in 2000 as an attorney with McCormick, Barstow, Sheppard, Wayte & Carruth LLP. Two years later in 2002, Mr. Wells left this firm to co-found Wells & Associates, specializing in personal injury and criminal defense law. He has become the preferred attorney in the Memphis region for representing high profile musicians and professional athletes in all ranges of litigated matters.
Since he was young, Mr. Wells said he was always looking for ways to help people. When he chose to pursue law, he wanted his focus to be on helping individuals rather than businesses. Mr. Wells' career highlight was his involvement in settling a large class action lawsuit in which the properties of predominantly low-income African Americans in northern Memphis were systematically populated by a chemical company. Mr. Wells was able to get the property owners compensated and their properties remediated.
Mr. Wells believes connecting with the community leads to success, and that people and clients can tell if your demeanor is genuine. Mr. Wells prides himself on his sincere interest in helping those in need, and he has been recognized for his generosity. He was the recipient of the Diversity Award from the University of Arkansas School of Law, was named Best Overall Oralist at the University of Arkansas' Moot Court Competition and was a finalist at the University of Arkansas' National Criminal Procedure Moot Court.
Outside of his work, Mr. Wells is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Tennessee Bar Association and the Memphis Bar Association. At the University of Arkansas, he was the president of the Student Bar Association, the National Traveling Trial Advocacy Team and the National Traveling Moot Court Team. He also likes to trek, explore and climb mountains across the globe. In five years' time, Mr. Wells aims to expand his reach in Memphis and open more law firms.
