Mr. Mark Alpert is the recipient of a 2002 Presidential Medal from Binghamton University.

Mr. Alpert is renowned as a performing arts executive celebrating over 45 years of accomplishment in his field. He believes that the mark of a nation is its culture, and has dedicated his career to helping to disseminate culture. He initially pursued an education at New York University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English and French literature in 1969. Mr. Alpert concluded his academic efforts with a Master of Arts in communications from Columbia University in 1971.
From 1969 to 1971, Mr. Alpert began his career as an assistant production manager for Holt, Rinehart, and Winston in New York City. He subsequently worked as the assistant to the president of the American Ballet Theatre from 1970 to 1971, and the general manager of the Erick Hawkins Dance Company in New York City from 1971 to 1975. During his tenure with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company, Mr. Alpert tripled the company's budget and produced two sold-out Carnegie Hall shows, an accomplishment that he recalls as a career highlight.
Mr. Alpert further found success as the executive director of Dennis Wayne's Dancers from 1976 to 1979, at which point he accepted the post of the vice president of Columbia Artists Management. He would remain active with the aforementioned management company until 2018. Since 2019, Mr. Alpert has excelled as the senior vice president of the Judson Management Group in New York.
Furthermore, Mr. Alpert is a former member of the board of directors of Louis/Nikolais Dance Company and the Saeko Ichinohe Dance Company. Likewise, he is the recipient of a 2002 Presidential Medal from Binghamton University. Mr. Alpert has been published in Symphony Magazine, and is responsible for the first stage design and production plans for a symphony presentation with a dance company as a featured soloist.
