A respected general practice dentist, Dr. Davis has been working in the heart of Dallas for over 50 years. Maintaining his own private practice, he and his team strive to provide a healthy environment for patients, while teaching them not only about the prevention of dental disease but also how to correct decay and gum disease with an emphasis on conservative bonded single restorations and bridges. Recognized nationally and internationally for his commitments to dentistry, Dr. Davis has served as President of one of the four international dental honor societies and as guest lecturer on Dental Volunteerism as well as Bonded Bridge Restorations.
Renowned for his humanitarian work, Dr. Davis has been leading dental mission trips to Central America since 1977. Continuing his tradition annually, he recruits fellow dentists and dental students from Texas A & M College of Dentistry and University of Texas at Houston School of Dentistry to accompany him. Visiting such countries as Mexico and Nicaragua he is responsible for the establishment of a 21 chair portable dental clinic in San Raymundo, Guatemala, where he and his teams will work tirelessly from sunup to sundown providing much needed dental care to mostly the younger generations. With the next trip during spring break Dr. Davis has so far brought more than 1500 dental students, 500 dentists and 500 staff to Latin America on strictly dental humanitarian missions.
Serving as a spokesman for various dental organizations, Dr. Davis has often been quoted in many of the major newspapers and magazines of America for his expertise. Television documentaries of his life and work include Four Country Reporter on Texas channels and Airline, an A & E TV reality show. The American Dental Association did a video feature documentary on his humanitarian work that was presented in Hawaii during their 2018 Annual Session. He has been active in his profession as the Chairman of the Dallas Mid-Winter Dental Convention and the Lone Star Dental Conference. Instrumental with several local organizations, he has been a volunteer for Buckner Children's Home in Dallas since 1970 and a volunteer for the Matamoros, Mexico Baptist Children's Home since 1977. He was also involved with the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas as Trustee and Secretary of the Board of Trustees. Dr. Davis notably completed service as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1969.
An equally talented musician, Dr. T. Bob's extensive background in music dates to 1967 when he initially played piano for the First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas. Since that time he has become well-known in the community for his talents, playing at various other churches, at public venues as a concert artist and piano soloist, as an accompanist for numerous recording artists, at numerous dental and religious conferences and conventions, as well as for church concerts, weddings and other events. Dr. Davis began taking formal piano lessons at the age of eight.
Through the years Dr. T. Bob has been a featured television personality and radio guest whose piano renditions have been aired on many stations both locally and abroad. His albums and recordings include: "Gratefully, T. Bob" in 1981; "T. Bob Piano" in 1983; "T. Bob-Late Nite" in 1986; "T. Bob & Bill- Sunday Sounds" in 1986; "The Best of T. Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Dr. T. Bob earned an Associate in Arts Diploma at Mars Hill Junior College in 1961. Subsequently obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Samford University in 1963, later he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the University of Alabama in 1967.
Among other industry related organizations, Dr. Davis is a Fellow and Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and honored fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, the Academy of Dentistry International and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is a member and past president of the Dallas Academy of General Dentistry, where he received the Dentist of the Year Award in 1987, 2001 and 2014. Dr. Davis is also affiliated with the Texas Academy of General Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Christian Medical and Dental Association and the Christian Dental Society.
In 2018 Dr. Davis accepted the Humanitarian Award from the American Dental Association in recognition of more than four decades of service and for his continuing commitment to Latin America as well as his local community in Texas. He was previously recognized as the Texas Dentist of the Year 2014, having been a four-time recipient of a Dentist of the Year Award in Dallas.
