Mr. Manilla previously held various managerial roles for a wide variety of firms, including as the executive vice president of Wagner Office Furniture between 1991 and 1995, the executive vice president of Lubin Business Interiors from 1990 to 1991, and the senior vice president and director of General Office Equipment Co., with whom he was employed from 1984 until 1990. He was further associated with Herman Miller, Inc., for several years where he worked as the director of strategic distribution, the director of marketing, group marketing manager and the director of strategic corporate programs. Mr. Manilla from 1966 to 1981, built a prolific career at the Westinghouse Electric Corp., serving in their offices located in major cities across the country. Initially appointed to the position of engineering assistant in the elevator division, he soon moved up the ranks as a sales engineer, district manager, regional manager of the architectural and furniture system division, and the national field sales manager. Earlier in his professional journey, Mr. Manilla gained valuable experience as the vice president of the Yankee Lake Amusement Co. in Ohio. In his career related activities, Mr. Manilla has attained several professional certifications, excelled as an author, speaker and consultant on behalf of BluDiamond Consulting since 2017. He has also dedicated much of his time to volunteer at various local organizations pertinent to his interests, serving 2011-2019 on the board of directors, including chair, secretary and treasurer, of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals which merged with the National Swimming Pool Foundation in 2019 to become the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance, 1996-2019 member and board of directors 2013-2019 the Florida Swimming Pool Association - Northeast Florida, 2011-2013 chair board of directors, Innovation & Economic Development Northeast Florida, Jacksonville Community Council, Inc., 2008 – 2014 Six Pillar Strategic Innovation & Economic Development Caucus of the Florida Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the board of directors of the North Florida Hotel and Lodging Association from 2010 to 2016, and the board of directors for the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, of which he has been a member since 2016. During this time, Mr. Manilla penned the inspirational self-help book "Secrets of the Pink House: From Saltwater to Holy Water" in 2017, in which he expounds on the rejuvenative influence of his Christian faith.
To prepare for his vocational aspirations, Mr. Manilla attended Youngstown State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in 1966. Abundantly qualified in his field, Mr. Manilla earned various certificates in the fields of executive leadership and management from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business between 1978 and 1982. After completing postgraduate work, he attained his Master of Management degree at Aquinas College in 1984.
To remain aware of developments in his industry, Mr. Manilla has been involved with the Associated General Contractors of America, the Construction Specifications Institute and the Building Owners and Managers Association. Beyond his primary professional responsibilities, he has provided his time and talents to several civic organizations, including the Princeton Estates Homeowners Association (board Chair), Sparta Commons Homeowners Association (board chair), Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Board (chair) and the San Juan del Rio School Board (chair), the Boy Scouts of America, and the Sports and Entertainment Committee (co-chair), Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce to name only a few. Mr. Manilla has also pursued his interests as a certified instructor Pool & Hot Tub Alliance, member of the National Association of Underwater Instructors, the Epping Forest Yacht Club, the Renaissance Club and the Indianapolis Athletic Club, amongst others. Considering his many accomplishments, he was the recipient several times of the President's Performance Award from the Westinghouse Electric Corp. and the 120 Club Honor Roll Award, awarded 2016 Dyess Hartley Business Person of The Year, 2015 and 2016 selected as one of the Top 50 Business Influencers - Northeast Florida, and honored as an Association of Pool and Spa Professionals 2016 APSP Fellow among many others.
