Civically, Mr. Walker devoted his time as pacesetter chair with the United Way of the Ohio Valley in Owensboro Ky. A member of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Business, and the Downtown Business and Professional Association, for which he served as a past President and board member. Mr. Walker served on the board of Directors of the Kentucky Retail Association for several years. He is a long·standing member of Lions Club International and has served as a Deputy District Governor, 32"Scottish Rite Mason, Shriner and Honorary Kentucky Colonel.

Prior to this engagement, he served as the president and chief executive officer for SW Anderson Co., in Owensboro, Kentucky, from 1974 to 1989. Earlier in his career, he contributed as a coordinator of merchandise with Interstate Department Stores Inc. in New York City between 1961 and 1974, as well as the manager of office and credit with the Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., in Kokomo, Indiana, for a brief period between 1960 and 1961.
Civically, Mr. Walker devoted his time as the pacesetter chair and a member of the board of directors with the United Way of the Ohio Valley in Owensboro, Kentucky between 1978 and 1982. A member of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, he also maintains affiliation with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Business, and the Downtown Business and Professional Association, for which he has served as a past president and board member. Mr. Walker was also associated with the Kentucky Retail Federation as a member of the board of directors between 1985 and 1989.
Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. Walker pursued an education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1960. Some 28 years later, he was named to the Alumni Hall of Fame by the College of Business Administration at the university in 1988. In light of all his accomplishments, Mr. Walker has been featured in Who's Who Worldwide, Who's Who in Finance and Industry and Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
