Dr. Allan Gold was honored with the Outstanding School Psychologist Award from the California Association of School Psychologists in 1991 and 2017.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 25, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Allan Gold has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Inspired by his father, who was also a teacher, Dr. Gold was greatly encouraged to enter the field of education. While attending school, he entered the U.S. Army Reserves and joined a medical unit, which was where he was introduced to psychology. Upon retiring from the military, he began working as a district psychologist for Reed Union School District in Tiburon, California in 1976 and remains there today. Over the years, Dr. Gold also gained valuable knowledge in education through his work as an adjunct professor with the University of California Berkeley.
Additionally, Dr. Gold supervises groups for children who have parents that are divorced, children whose parents are ill and children who have a special needs sibling. Notably, he is dedicated to doing all he can to make a difference in the lives of children. During his spare time, Dr. Gold also contributes to the community by volunteering through his synagogue.
A nationally certified school psychologist, Dr. Gold earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of California Berkeley. Subsequently, he returned to his alma mater and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in 1978. Likewise, Dr. Gold would remain aware of changes in the field through his alignment with the California Association of School Psychologists and the National Association of School Psychologists.
For his considerable professional accomplishments, Dr. Gold was honored with the Outstanding School Psychologist Award from the California Association of School Psychologists in 1991 and 2017, a First Educator Award for Outstanding Educators from the Reed Union School District in 1994 and a Rotary Club Award in 2014. Furthermore, he established a TEA club, teaching equity and acceptance for anyone that wants to talk about diversity. Additionally, he founded the Gender Sexuality Alliance so that youth would have a safe space to talk about sexuality. Looking toward the future, Dr. Gold intends to continue in the field for as long as he can.
