Mrs. Hurst holds several degrees and certifications that she uses to run her company, J&J Fencing Pros, LLC. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from California State University, Northridge and a second Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She also holds an Associate of Arts in Business, Business Administration and Management. In 2004, she received 3 Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP & CCSP) from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Mrs. Hurst's career commenced in 1998 when she took on the role of Customer Service Lead for Fulfillment Solutions of Texas Limited until 2003. For the following year, she was the Director of Accounting for Enviro~Mold IAQ Services Incorporated, and from 2004 to 2007, she was an Internet Consultant at Verizon Shared Services and an Optimization Account Manager/SEM Builder Lead at Idearc Media. From 2007 to 2010, she was the Director of Online Marketing at NowLegal.com. Mrs. Hurst then moved on to become the Director of Search Marketing for Hotels.com in the Dallas-Fort Worth area from 2001 to 2013. From 2013 to 2015, she was the Vice President of Online Marketing for Traveljunction.com, and in 2015 she became the Vice President of Online Marketing for Instinct Marketing in Frisco, Texas, a role she held until 2017. Simultaneously, Mrs. Hurst spearheaded J&J Fencing Pros, LLC in 2015.
Mrs. Hurst and her husband James chose to open their own fencing company because James felt he would be able to provide better service to customers compared to how his previous fencing job operated. Together, the two opened J&J Fencing Pros, LLC, and Mrs. Hurst kept her position as the Vice President of Instinct Marketing while building their fencing business. Five years from now, Mrs. Hurst plans to grow the fencing company, but she also is excited to begin other ventures in online marketing. Mrs. Hurst briefly reflected on some of the issues from her difficult childhood but believes that if you are unhappy with your life circumstances then it is completely up to you to reinvent yourself in any capacity. She believes you should never let your childhood determine your overall fate in life.
Alongside her busy career schedule, Mrs. Hurst makes the time to volunteer with Rise Adaptive Sports, which she has done since 2011. She is on the board of directors for her Homeowners Association and was a Yahoo Ambassador in 2007. Mrs. Hurst also holds certifications with Google Search Advertising Advanced since 2010 and Microsoft adExcellence since 2008. She is also ranked 4th globally for Search Engine Marketing. In her local community, she has been named Best of Denton, Best of Denton County, and in the Business Hall of Fame for 2 consecutive years for Fence Contractors awarded by the Denton Award Program.
