Inspired by his father, a chemist who served in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Robinson pursued a career in the military. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1984 to 1998, during which time he held the post of a branch chief of Fort Knox Armor School, he worked as a support group logistics officer for the 507th Corps Support Group. While working in the 507th, Mr. Robinson also excelled as a maintenance and contracting officer for the 82nd Airborne Division of Combined Joint Task Force 82.
A born leader, Mr. Robinson supervised the maintenance section for forces of Regional Command East G4 in support of Operating Enduring Freedom, prepared and packaged maintenance reports, advised board members and commanders regarding the most feasible and readily available mechanism for their particular acquisition, and conducted and prepared qualitative and quantitative data analysis reports for senior key leaders. Over the years, he has drawn upon decades of operational management experience in his work with the CENTCOM Deployment and Distribution Operation Center, as a capability developer between 2010 and 2015 and as an air security LNO at the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, where he most recently served as a deputy senior watch officer. In this capacity, Mr. Robinson coordinated assessments of prevention, protection, mitigation, response and recovery actions of chemical, biological, radiation, nuclear and explosive events for the Pentagon Reservation.
Today, Mr. Robinson excels as a senior army instructor for the Army Junior ROTC, where he maintains responsibility for monitoring students' activities in order to maintain the security and safeties of the environment. Additionally, he evaluates the students' progress and provides counsel for cadets in their performances under the JROTC curriculum program. Throughout his career, Mr. Robinson has been active in numerous countries, including Germany and Afghanistan, as well as in Operation Desert Storm.
An expert in his field, Mr. Robinson earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from West Virginia State University in 1984. He subsequently obtained certification in capability's development from Defense Acquisition University. Currently, Mr. Robinson is pursuing a Master of Education at Regent University.
Mr. Robinson retains his professional alignment with numerous organizations, including Who's Who in Colleges and Universities, The Ordinance Order of Samuel Sharpe and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Due to his outstanding achievements in the military, he was honored as a Distinguished Military Graduate in 1984, with the Order of Saint George through the United States Armor Association in 1989, a Bronze Star, a Meritorious Service Medal and an Army Commendation Medal. He was further presented with the National Defense Service Medal, an Army Achievement Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal and a Global War on Terrorism Medal for his professional efforts. Looking toward the future, Mr. Robinson intends to continue teaching before eventually retiring and traveling the world.
