A Birmingham, Alabama-native, Mr. Chandler began his professional career in 2005 by traveling over 2,000 miles away from his hometown to Los Angeles, California. After six months in Los Angeles, Mr. Chandler was hired by a boutique advertising agency with offices in Los Angeles and headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. In 2007, Mr. Chandler was hired by Herbalife International (NYSE: HLF) becoming the second hire in the company's newly formed Sports Marketing Department. Mr. Chandler remained in this role through 2015 having the opportunity during his tenure to collaborate on partnerships with global superstar athletes like David Beckham, Cristiano Rinaldo and Leo Messi.
As 2015 came to a close, Mr. Chandler accepted a position with Iron Tribe Fitness, a fitness franchise with 40 US locations, as their vice president of marketing based in his hometown of Birmingham, AL. In 2017, he exited his position at Iron Tribe Fitness bootstrapped his first startup from his garage, a digital advertising agency he named, Apex Current, LLC. In Apex Current's first year, Mr. Chandler skyrocketed his company to $1 million in topline revenue, a brand new office space, 7 team members and a recognition by the Birmingham Business Journal as a finalist for Small Business of the Year. In Mr. Chandler's most recent venture, an undisclosed startup concept, he's raised significant early seed capital and is in the midst of building a mobile application product that he's identified to have the potential for massive growth.
Before jumpstarting his career in the business world, Mr. Chandler received a Bachelor of Science in commerce business administration and consumer and industrial marketing from the University of Alabama in 2005. Since then, Birmingham Business Journal recognized Mr. Chandler as one of Birmingham's "Top CEO's" in 2018 and as previously mentioned, recognized his company as a finalist for Small Business of the Year in 2018. More recently, in 2019, Apex Current was listed on DesignRush's Top Advertising Agencies in the World featured online by Business Insider. Mr. Chandler was recognized for these awards due to his trailblazer mentality and work ethic. He has a personal goal to give back significantly to charities and causes he believes in and over the next five years to have the ability to invest in young founders of new startup concepts, helping to guide their business growth and development.
Mr. Chandler is married to his wife, Michelle Chandler, an interior designer by trade who he met while living in California and they share two daughters together. He also makes time to give back to his community. He's volunteered for a number of organizations including traveling to Haiti in 2011 with Child Hope International, an organization which aims to provide care and education for orphans. He also makes it a priority to donate regularly and has done so supporting a number of causes like; Neverthirst, KultureCity as well as making anonymous donations to struggling families during the holidays and to support relief efforts for some of the recent natural disasters that have struck communities. The startup founder also enjoys public speaking; having spoken at a number of functions and at organizations like the American Advertising Federation, Fusion Bham, Forge which is Birmingham's premiere coworking space and Nepris. Mr. Chandler attributes his startup successes to three core factors which include his grit, competitive nature and surrounding himself with the right people whether team members he's hired or mentors and close friends.
