Formerly working in a private practice in Little Rock between 1991 and 1995, Mr. Haught also found success as a partner at Wright, Lindsey & Jennings in Little Rock and an associate attorney at Stanley, Schroeder, Weeks, Thomas & Lysaught in his hometown of Kansas City, Kansas.
In 1977, Mr. Haught authored "Arkansas Probate System." The seventh edition of the book was later published in 2005. Mr. Haught also co-authored "Probate and Estate Administration: The Law in Arkansas" in 1983.
Mr. Haught initially pursued an education at the University of Kansas, obtained a bachelor's degree in 1961 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1964. He subsequently earned a Master of Laws at Georgetown University in 1968. He has been admitted to practice law by the Kansas Bar Association and the Arkansas Bar Association. After completing his degrees, Mr. Haught notably served to the rank of captain in the U.S. Army Reserve in both Korea and Washington between 1964 and 1968.
Among other industry-related organizations, Mr. Haught has been a member of the Central Arkansas Estate Council, the Pulaski County Bar Association and the American Council Association. He further served as the council chairman of committees for the American Bar Association and as the chairman of the probate law section and several committees for the Arkansas Bar Association. Likewise, Mr. Haught has maintained his involvement in several capacities with the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, including as the chairman of the editorial board.
