The Hyundai Motor Group has presented Dr. Myungsik Choi with four Best Invention Awards, a Best Research Paper Plaque, and an Award of the Most Patent Applications.

With the aforementioned company, he has excelled as the principal researcher of the engine advanced R&D team since 2017 and a leader of the variable system R&D part since 2013. Also active on the fuel efficiency enhancement team from 2010 to 2013, he worked as a senior researcher with the gasoline engine test team from 2005 to 2010 and the head of the green engine technology team from 2003 to 2005. Dr. Choi began his career with the Hyundai Motor Company as a senior researcher with the gasoline engine test team from 1998 to 2003 and a researcher with R&D team 1 from 1990 to 1998.
Prior to these appointments, Dr. Choi pursued an education with Seoul National University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in engineering in 1990. He continued his studies with Carnegie-Mellon University, graduating with a Master of Science in mechanical engineering in 1994. He concluded his academic efforts at Seoul National University, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in mechanical and aerospace engineering in 2011. A certified black belt in DFSS, Dr. Choi is a member of the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers.
Throughout his career, Dr. Choi has been celebrated for his exemplary contributions to the field. The Hyundai Motor Group has presented him with four Best Invention Awards, a Best Research Paper Plaque, and an Award of the Most Patent Applications. Dr. Choi's work on engines have been recognized among Ward's Top 10 Best Engines on four occasions, accepted a Presidential Commendation and three IR52 Jang Young-Shil Awards.
