CARLISLE, PA, November 08, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kevin Allen Wagner has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Driven by a love for history, Mr. Wagner has found success as the social studies department chair for seventh through 12th grade in the Carlisle Area School District in Pennsylvania since 1997. In this role, he is responsible for writing curriculum, overseeing and evaluating the teachers within the department, and creating professional development opportunities for his staff. In addition to this leadership position, Mr. Wagner has excelled in the classroom, serving the district as a teacher for advanced placement classes for more than 20 years, currently focusing his efforts on U.S. history, seminar and research. Over the course of his career, he has further shared his expertise with students as an instructor of modern European history, psychology, and civics. Mr. Wagner also serves as the advisor to the Model United Nations Club at Carlisle High School, a role he considers to be especially rewarding.

Following this success, he furthered his studies at Shippensburg University, where he obtained his master's degree in educational leadership and policy in 2005. Mr. Wagner has been certified in social studies education by the Pennsylvania Department of Education since 1995.
Well-regarded for his expertise, Mr. Wagner has been the recipient of several accolades. In 2019, he was recognized as the National VFW Teacher of the Year in recognition of his dedication to honoring American veterans through his Silent Heroes project. The project, which asks advanced placement students to research local veterans, has led to the creation of websites for World War II veterans killed at Normandy and the construction of a Vietnam Wall of Honor. Notably, he was also selected as a finalist in the Walt Disney World Outstanding Teacher Competition in 2001.
A dedicated educator, Mr. Wagner has also been honored with the Thomas W. Holtzman Jr. Educational Leadership Award as well as the Gilder-Lehrman State History Teacher of the Year and the Patricia Behring Teacher of the Year by the National History Day Organization. Enthusiastic about his field, Mr. Wagner has led trips around the world to teach students and educators about World War II. He was selected to take part in the inaugural Normandy Institute: Sacrifice for Freedom in 2011, and has been a guest speaker on multiple occasion in regards to educational leadership and innovative teaching methods. To further expand his understanding of history, Mr. Wagner is a member of the National Council for Social Studies, the National Council for History Education, the International Model United Nations Association, the Harrisburg Civil War Roundtable, and the Civil War Preservation Trust.
