LITTLETON, CO, November 08, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Judith Lajoie has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Inspired by her father, a former administrative law judge in New York, Ms. Lajoie was encouraged to pursue a career in law. After working as the chief legal officer for real estate for MDC Holdings, Inc., a public homebuilder known as Richmond American Homes, in 2009, she accepted a position with CoBiz Financial, ultimately becoming General Counsel to Colorado and Arizona Business Banks which were owned by CoBiz. She held this position until returning to private legal practice and joining the prestigious national law firm of Snell & Wilmer in 2019, where she currently works in the commercial finance and transactional practice groups. Even though her career has been filled with notable highlights, Ms. Lajoie is especially proud of being consistently honored as a preeminent AV-rated attorney through Martindale-Hubbell.
An expert in her field, Ms. Lajoie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in child development from Cornell University in 1972, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in 1979. Subsequently, she was admitted to practice law in New York and Colorado and is also admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court upon special invitation from her law school. During her spare time, Ms. Lajoie serves on the Board of Directors for an internationally recognized festival presenter called the Cherry Creek Arts Festival and on an advisory board for Colorado Public Radio (part of the National Public Radio network). She also participates in a professional mentoring program managed by the University of Denver Sturm School of Law which includes mentoring a first year law student and beyond, as he moves through law school.
For her professional accomplishments and various leadership roles in the community, Ms. Lajoie was presented with the Athena Award through The Alliance of Professional Women and the Woman of Excellence Award from Easter Seals Society. Looking toward the future, she intends to continue to build her law practice, pursue her nonprofit work, find recreational dance opportunities and have fun. Ms. Lajoie is a commercial arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and she also hopes to expand this work in the future.
