In this capacity, he provides formulation and development with manufacturing support to various clinical programs ranging from phase I to registration and validation activities. Additionally, Dr. Loka investigates new drugs for various clients by designing and executing experiments while analyzing the data from these experiments to establish and optimize a robust process for manufacturing these drug products.
Previously, Dr. Loka worked for Ascent Pharmaceuticals as a senior formulation scientist from 2016 until 2018. He began his career in the field as a graduate research assistant and a graduate student instructor for the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. An expert in his field, Dr. Loka has earned a Bachelor of Arts in pharmacy from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in 2011 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutics and Drug Design from the University of the Sciences in 2017.
Inspired to pursue a career in the health care field because of his mother, Dr. Loka initially entered the research aspect of the industry. He has since contributed his knowledge to a plethora of publications, including "Water Insoluble Drug Formulations," "Use of Extrusion Aids for Successful Production of Kollidon CL-SF Pellets by Extrusion Spheronization" and "Influence of Alcohol and Smoking on Drug Action: A Step for Better Utilization of Drugs," which was featured in the Journal of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Research in 2011. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Loka is affiliated with the American Society of Quality and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
Due to his hard work and determination, Dr. Loka was notably presented with the Joseph P. Schwartz Travel Scholarship.
