Ms. Tapsony is a musician and music educator with more than 55 years of innovation in her field. Trained in ballet, she intended to pursue a career in dance before an accident at age 16 forced her to refocus her goals on music. Ms. Tapsony earned a teacher's diploma from the Conservatory of Gyor, in Hungary, before attending the University of Missouri, where she completed a Bachelor of Music in 1968 and a Master of Music in 1970.

Ms. Tapsony garnered a laudable reputation as a professor at the Teacher's College of Eger, Hungary, before relocating to the United States in the late 1960s. She became a teacher at the University of Missouri Conservatory of Music from 1969 to 1977 and an artist in resident at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, from 1970 until 1979. Between 1987 and 2003, she taught at Ocean County College, and, from 1993 to 2003, at Burlington Community College. Since 2005, Ms. Tapsony has worked as the proprietor of the Mozart and Beyond piano studio.

Ms. Tapsony has performed worldwide, including appearances in London, Amsterdam, Salzburg, and Vienna. She is proud to have taught students who went on to play at Carnegie Hall in New York, and considers her students' accomplishments to be the highlight of her career. Ms. Tapsony is the recipient of a 1960 Franz Liszt Prize from the Conservatory of Gyor. She is a member of the American Franz Liszt Society and Mu Phi Epsilon.
