Mr. Johnson spent 14 years as director of marketing for Jacobs (Svendrup) Civil Inc. in Helena from 1994 to 2008.
Mr. Johnson continues as a traffic accident reconstructionist, a practice he has maintained since 1978.
A registered professional in the state of Montana, Mr. Johnson originally acquired a Bachelor of Science at Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology in 1958. He then spent seven years in the U.S. Army Reserves between 1959 and 1966. A highly sought-after expert in his field, he has contributed his expertise as a consultant engineer for numerous companies. He has also written multiple articles for various professional journals on the subject of highway safety. Extensively involved in his local community, Mr. Johnson formerly served as an advisory board member for Helena Vocational-Technical Education.
Mr. Johnson is a fellow and expert witness counsel of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, as well as a fellow of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers. He is also a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Montana Society of Professional Engineers and the Washington Association of Technical Accident Investigators, and a member of the Transportation Research Board, where he was active on the geometric design committee and tort liability committee. Some of his avocational interests include membership with the Corvette Club and Shriners.
