ST. PETERS, MO, December 05, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Mr. Altin with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Altin celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
The president and senior energy consultant of AMPSY Engineers and Consultants since 2016, Mr. Altin is a notable mechanical engineer of varying areas of expertise, with prolific experience in both the United States as well as his native Turkey. Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, he pursued an education at the University of Michigan graduating in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Following this achievement, Mr. Altin concluded his academic efforts with a Master of Science in mechanical engineering in 1970, also at the University of Michigan.
In Turkey, Mr. Altin won a competitive scholarship based on his high exam scores, which allowed him to choose a profession and pursue education in that discipline. He chose engineering, and selected the Turkish Petroleum Corporation from which to receive his scholarship, who would then determine what university he ultimately attended. After obtaining a master's degree in 1970, Mr. Altin returned to Turkey to work for the Turkish Petroleum Corporation. He served as a second lieutenant in the Turkish Navy from 1972 to 1973.
Mr. Altin returned from Turkey in 1974 when he commenced his initial position in engineering with Monsanto Central Engineering in Saint Louis as an energy systems engineer. He excelled in this position until he became the energy systems manager for Monsanto Enviro-Chem in 1982, and a project manager in 1995. He subsequently proceeded to serve as the technical director of Abener, USA in St. Louis – a US subsidiary of Abener of Seville, Spain – from 2007 to 2015. In late 2015 he formed an engineering consultants company named AMPSY Engineers and Consultants, and since 2016 has maintained his affiliation with AMPSY Engineers and Consultants as its president and energy systems consultant particularly for various renewable energy and biofuels projects. In a career suffused with highlights, Mr. Altin is proudest of his time as the technical director at Abengoa North America's Business Development group, in which he was instrumental in the technical development of two 290 MW solar power plants, one with energy storage and recovery, the other one without storage.
