Ms. Teeter has accrued more than 30 years of service in the field of art education. She attended the University of Utah, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1971. She continued her education with a Master of Education from Keene State College in 1978, and completed further postgraduate study at Novosibirsk State University in Russia. Ms. Teeter credits her childhood teachers, particularly Jack Vigos, her high school art teacher, for inspiring her to pursue a career in education.
From 1975 until 1977, Ms. Teeter was an instructor at Keene State College. In 1976, she began a career in interior design as a partner at The Tack and Hammer and the Mobile Decorator Showroom in Nelson, New Hampshire. Ms. Teeter remained active there until 1984, after which she became a teacher for the Provo School District in Utah, where she worked with students until her retirement in 2014. From 1989 to 1991, Ms. Teeter garnered a laudable reputation as the district art curriculum leader for the Provo School District. She is licensed to teach secondary education, art, home economics, and business.
Due to her outstanding accomplishments, Ms. Teeter was the recipient of a Teacher of the Year award from the Provo School District. In 1989, she was invited to present at the Getty Center for the Arts Conference in Los Angeles. Ms. Teeter is a member of the National Education Association, the National Art Education Association, and the Provo Education Association, where she was a member of the instructional and professional development team between 1989 and 1991.
